Plastic Royale, founded by Thomas Åberg who is born and raised in Stockholm Sweden, finds the inspiration in deep house and classic house music but he doesn’t really like placing his music in compartments. If there is a groove then there´s a groove.
His interest for music has been there for as long as he can remember. From sneaking into his older brothers room at the age of 13 to play records to spending his first hard earned money at the age of 15 on a Technics 1210 turntable. The first records he bought were mostly funk and soul and the love for the genres has followed him ever since. Another big influence in Thomas life was the bootleg records called Remixed Records that eventually became Swemix, that lead Thomas into the world om mixing and DJing.
The latest release is a vocal house track where Ashley Slater stands for lyrics and vocals. High Again (feat. Ashley Slater) is a bassy house tune about redemption and salvation.
Paris 62 is his first release and is inspired by late 90´s French house. The song aims to touch the unique sound of a certain groove and funk that can often be found in French house music.
The second release, named Chicago 86, has clear influences of the Chicago sound with a deep bass and that typical Chicago piano. The inspiration roots from the first time when Thomas at an early age heard the Chicago house sound.
